World Cup Qualifier: England v Poland

England play their final World Cup 2014 Qualifier against Poland at Wembley Stadium on October 15. Looking at the record between the two teams over the years, it may seem like the odds are stacked against Poland as they have been beaten a whopping 10 times by England out of the 18 times they have met on the pitch. The teams have drawn seven times and Poland have been able to scoop up one victory against the Three Lions.

The last time the squads came face to face was in October 2012 and the game ended with a 1-1 draw. Wayne Rooney was the man to header in England’s only goal just before the interval. Polish football fans are expected to turn out in their dozens and London’s Wembley Stadium is sure to be filled with atmosphere during this fixture. Tickets are due to go on sale in July, and fans are advised to secure their place as early as possible to avoid any disappointment.

The nearest station to Wembley Stadium is Wembley Park tube station, which serves as a Jubilee and Metropolitan line connection. Those travelling in from out of London and looking for a nearby place to stay can take a look at our London hotel deals for the Quality Hotel Wembley.
