World Cup Qualifier: England v Montenegro
England come face to face with the Mediterranean minnows, Montenegro, for a World Cup qualifier at Wembley Stadium on October 11. The sides have only ever met three times and all games have resulted in draws. The first of these occurred at Wembley and ended in a 0-0 draw, followed by a 2-2- draw in Podgorica in Euro 2012, and most recently a 1-1 draw in the March 2013 World Cup qualifying campaign. Montenegro boast an impressive 6-0 victory over San Marino last September. Mirko Vucinic, who plays for Italian premier league giants Jeventus poses perhaps the biggest threat for the Three Lions and it should be interesting to see how Ashley Cole, along with the rest of the English defenders, deal with the football star’s ability to dazzle the crowds with his fancy footwork.
The nearest station to Wembley Stadium is Wembley Park tube station, which serves as a Jubilee and Metropolitan line connection. Those travelling in from out of London and looking for a nearby place to stay can take a look at our London hotel deals for the Quality Hotel Wembley.
