Don’t miss your chance to see Neil Young at Hyde Park

Neil YoungWhen the summer period comes around in the capital, one area that becomes a mecca for music fans from all over the country is London Hyde Park. Events like Hyde Park Calling, the previously held Wireless Festival and now British Summer Time annually boast headline performances from the world’s biggest acts.

In recent years, the park has played host to shows from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Blur. But this Friday (December 13th), music lovers will be given the chance to get their hands on tickets to see a man who is considered as perhaps the greatest singer-songwriter of all time. The organisers of British Summer Time Hyde Park have announced that none other than Neil Young will be touching down in London on July 12th for an outdoor set that is sure to be nothing short of spectacular.Young was forced to cancel a string of UK arena dates earlier this year after his guitarist broke his hand, meaning fans will be delighted to discover they have another chance to catch a glimpse of a true master of contemporary music.

The singer is famous for an enthralling, but uncompromising, live set that touches on every corner of a career that has demonstrated diversity and prolificacy that few others can match. Young has released music with a host of different projects – initially with Buffalo Springfield, before moving on to Crazy Horse, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and, of course, a glittering solo repertoire.

Expect classics like Heart of Gold, Like a Hurricane and Hey Hey, My My, as well as the usual marathon-sized rendition of showstopper Rockin’ In the Free World. But the event is being billed as a full-scale day out and there is a support bill that more than substantiates such a claim.Young will be joined by indie stalwarts The National and one of the most hyped new singer-songwriters in the UK, in the shape of Tom Odell.

Tickets for the show are expected to be an almost instant sell-out, so fans are advised to act fast.
