Backstreet’s back – At London’s O2 Arena
The Backstreet Boys are back together once again and will be performing at the O2 Arena in London on Friday April 4th 2014. AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson make up the popular 90s band. Richardson is rejoining the band for their A World Like This tour, making it the first occasion all five band members will have performed together for a decade.
The group performed as a four-piece in 2011, touring the country with New Kids on the Block. A World Like This marks the 20th anniversary of the band and follows the 2013 release of their eighth studio album. Their 20th anniversary year saw the band awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as beginning their sell-out arena tour in China.
A celebration for their loyal fan base was streamed live worldwide to mark the occasion. In the 1990s, the Backstreet Boys achieved seven Grammy Award nominations and sold over 130 million albums worldwide, securing them the title of history’s best-selling boyband. Fans attending the tour can expect to hear new tracks as well as old favourites including As Long As You Love Me, Want it That Way, Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) and Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).
One of the biggest girl groups of the 90s, All Saints, are also reforming especially to support the boyband on tour. At the height of their career, All Saints sold over ten million albums worldwide and achieved five number one singles. The Backstreet Boys said: “Our last UK shows were with New Kids on the Block and we had a fantastic time. The reaction was out of this world. We can’t wait to come back and blow you away with our full headline show. We’re really excited for our UK fans to see us again as a five-piece.”London’s O2 Arena is located in the centre of the capital and can be accessed via the Tube from all London hotels.
