ATP World Tour Finals
The O2 Arena will host the Barclays ATP World Tours Final from the 4th to 11th November 2013. During these eight days, eight of the world’s finest men’s singles players and men’s double pairs will face each other in this knock-out competition, in which there are two sessions of tennis a day, one at 12 noon and another at 6:00pm in the evening. Last year saw the young Serbian Novak Djokovic take the World Tour title for the second time after beating Roger Federer, who has dominated the tournament in the past with six World Tour titles under his belt. The top eight in the world include the likes of Andy Murray, who recently scooped up the Wimbledon title to give the Brits a championship trophy after a 77-year wait, and Rafael Nadal, who has fortunately just recovered from a knee injury just in time for the competition.
The O2 Arena in Greenwich, London, has been the home of the ATP World Tour Finals since 2009 and is now one of London’s greatest multi- purpose sports stadiums. The audience is in total darkness as all lights are focused on the match below, creating an intense and captivating atmosphere. Ticket prices range between £10 and £62 depending on seating, plus booking fees. The closest tube station is North Greenwich station, a 2-minute walk away from the arena. The nearest hotel is Radisson Blu Edwardian New Providence Wharf, on London’s Canary Wharf.
