Olympia International Fine Arts and Antiques Fair
The Olympia International Fine Arts and Antiques Fair returns for another antiques, jewellery, paintings, contemporary design and ceramics showcase from the 14 to 19 June. 150 traders from the UK and around the world set up shop at London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre with a number of key pieces from numismatics, to 20th century furniture and Asian works of art up for grabs. In previous years Pre-Raphaelite paintings have gone for as much as £20,000 and have proven to be particularly popular. One of the most expensive items sold was a toilet service set, which was snapped up for a whopping £1.5 million. The fair attracts an estimated 30,000 people, and comes to Olympia twice throughout the year in June and again in November. This year’s events programme highlights include a lecture on the restoration of The Connaught Hotel from esteemed interior designer, Guy Oliver, and a talk from exhibitor and maritime specialist, Nicholas Bagshawe, on England’s late Pre-Raphaelites. Preview Day tickets are £100, while advanced single admission tickets are £15 and on the door single admission is £20. Opening times are usually 11am to 7pm, with the exceptions of Preview Day, and Thursday 13 June when the fair extends its opening hours until 9pm. Sunday 16 June sees an earlier closing time of 5pm. Olympia dates back to 1884 and is a spectacular venue, which holds 10,000 people and hosts some of the best trade shows in the UK.
